One of my proudest projects, this affectionate parody of Margaret Wise Brown's iconic bedtime story was originally started in November 2019 for Illustration class. After creating a character modeled after myself, I was so pleased with the result of my "Very Hungry Caterpillar" animated GIF recreation back in October, that I wanted to redo an entire children's story altogether. Thus came "Goodnight Moose", with the setting and objects based on that of my own room and most of my collectables included.

IDEATION
The pictures of the jumping cow/moon, and the three bears are the only objects carried over from the original book that appear in this story. I also wanted to use plush toy bears for more appeal, and I eventually changed them to sitting on round chairs, rather than the plain regular chairs in my early version. The cat poster is also not an actual object in my room, but a nod to a fictional internet meme from the animated film, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". The fishbowl snow globe is actually based off of the aquarium snow globe I have featuring the Tank Gang characters from "Finding Nemo". The Dalmatian robe actually belongs to my mother, and the elephants pictured are among a sea of plushies I have on the shelf of my desk, including Horton from the "Dr. Seuss" stories, Lumpy from "Winnie the Pooh", Hathi Jr. from "The Jungle Book" and Dumbo (one my most favorite Disney characters and movies). The flame in my Tiki head is actually an electric light-up souvenir with a paper flame and a fan, but in my story, the flame is actually part of a real candle inside, and blows out when the lights are turned off.
